Gua Sha
Gua sha, translated to "scraping" in Chinese, is a technique whereby a tool is used to scrape the skin to bring circulation to an area and break up adhesions in the fascial layers. Fascia is made up of connective tissues that form bands or sheets around muscles, vessels, nerves, and organs of the body. This is particularly good for injuries that have not healed properly, resulting in adhesions being formed in the connective tissues.
